There’s a legal battle brewing between a young Australian filmmaker and one of Papua New Guinea’s most revered former politicians, Dame Carol Kidu.
It’s over The Opposition — a film about the demolition of Port Moresby’s Paga Hill settlement and the involvement of an Australian-backed development company.
Although Dame Carol is shown as a hero standing up to developers, she’s taken out an injunction in the New South Wales Supreme Court to stop the film being screened.
She tells RN Drive why.
